This post is a continuation of my first purchase of a three month membership. The total came up to $75, which is way less than the value of each product you receive over this period. Sometimes if you're lucky, you get free shipping! Sign up for their updates for the deals bih.
Honestly, I was kinda unimpressed when I opened this box -- so I'm gonna keep this short.
The first item was a shampoo that I was pleased with since it was free of curl enemies (check out the pic above). I used this shampoo and it smelled like I could eat it, but thankfully I'm smart enough to not make that mistake. I was disappointed that it didn't come with a conditioner to pair with, but I used a random Shea Moisture conditioner I had at home. I would've appreciated if the shampoo and conditioner came in this box. It lasted a couple months though so I was grateful for that.
The second item was a Detangler, which I haven't really used much in the past. Most of the time, I don't detangle my hair unless I'm in the shower. I decided to give this product a try once. I wasn't so fond of the smell since the grape essence is a bit overpowering. I was impressed with how well it worked though. I used just a few sprays as I sectioned my hair and detangled. I was a little worried about how my hair would look after I twisted it since I am not used to seeing it so frizzy, but the twist-out was just like if I did it straight out the shower. I still have this product and it will probably last a while since ain't nobody got time to detangle curly hair without conditioning lol.
The last two products are honestly, eh. I'm personally not a fan of using oil in my hair because I've had issues with acne that I'm still overcoming. My facial skin, at least, is an oily type. So, I try to be careful with what I put in my hair so it doesn't cause breakouts. If you know me, you know I do facemasks daily, so using oil in my hair would be kinda counterproductive. I've used the castor oil mostly for spot treatment since my scalp is a bit dry sometimes and it really does soothe. I've used the Creme of Nature oil minimally on my hair after I straightened it.
While this was not the best Curlkit box, I have used all of the products and I know they work well. I hope to learn a bit more about how to use natural oils for the benefit of my curls. No lie though, I wanted to see if December offered something better. Check out what I got in December here!
