As always, I'm super excited to see my Curlkit box arrive! However, this time I waited a few days to open it, which is so not me. This time, I am pretty disappointed. I am actually even more disappointed with this box than when I received my November subscription. Here's what I got:
I received a Curling Cream I received in December's Curlkit, which I didn't expect since they've already distributed this item. If you've read that blog post, you'll remember that I used the curling cream in its entirety already. I expect to do the same exact thing this time as well, so this is probably the best item in this box for me.
I also received an edge control, which is such a bummer for me since I don't usually have this in my routine. I will be giving it a try, but after a quick glance I'm pretty uninterested. The product says it contains Jamaican Castor Oil, but it doesn't look very natural when looking at the ingredients. It contains a bunch of shit I can't pronounce and that's usually a deal-breaker for me when shopping for natural hair products. In addition, it doesn't smell very good. This item is probably going to be a flop on my side, but I'll try it out once my hair needs to be put in a pony tail.

The coconut oil product is a bit boring to me. I already have a full tub of coconut oil in my room that I barely use and it's super organic. I'm not so sure about this one. One benefit of receiving this one is that it's a bit smaller, so it would be easier to travel with. Other than that, I'll probably just keep it for when I need it. If you look to the right, you'll see the actual expression I have on my face now.
The last product is a travel sized Shea Butter, which I'm actually the most excited about! I currently do not have a larger product of Shea Butter in my possession, so it was nice to receive something I don't have already. Also, I'm going to Vegas today so this is going right in my suitcase!
I've gone through six months of being a Curlkit member and I've been split between being super satisfied and a bit disappointed. Three boxes were incredibly great and three boxes were eh to me. As always, subscription services are a bit of a gamble since you never know what you're going to get until you receive it. Based on my experience so far, I would be open to buying another subscription service. However, I'll be taking another hiatus as I did from December to April. Anyway, I've got my hair in a protective style for now and I won't be needing many products.
