First time getting eyelash extensions!

I've never done my lashes in the past and I actually was pretty scared. Up until two years ago I had an intense phobia with my eyes. I was wearing glasses since I was a kid in second grade and didn't start using contacts until right before college (ew, what do you mean I have to touch my eye?). I didn't get over this weird phobia till I got Lasik (something I'll probably post about at a different time).

Anyway, I was super excited to finally try eyelash extensions in preparation for my #JordanYear. I bought a GroupOn for Christine Lash Studio located near Times Square. This was only after I spent time reading reviews since I have major anxiety about life in general, but also the idea of someone working on my very expensive eyes as their net worth doubled after my expensive laser eye surgery. At the time, they had an average of four stars with pages and pages of 5 star reviews so I chose to trust them. I only wanted the best and I needed to be on dunking like J on my birthday.
I made an appointment for after work on Wednesday, April 25th since my birthday was that Saturday the 28th #TaurusBaby. It was for 5:30PM and it took them quite a while to see me. As soon as I walked in actually, I noticed that there was a difficult customer. She bought a Groupon as well, but she already redeemed one in their facility. This was simply a case of not reading the fine print and noticing that you can only use one as a new customer and you must pay the full-price afterwards. They dealt with this customer the only way they could, by allowing her to stay in the waiting room while she waited to sort things out with Groupon. She should've just went home honestly because that was not the employees' fault.
Once I signed in and redeemed my GroupOn, I waited in the waiting room (duh). It was super cute and well-decorated with zoom-in pictures of their work and quotes about looking your best. I noticed their prices and bruh, I was so glad I got a GroupOn. I paid $28 for the Russian Lash Volume, which is also three dimensional. This option came with over a hundred lashes per eye! If you refer to Christine Lash Studio's Website the option I picked is worth $280 for the first time visit and fill-ins vary from $50-$70 depending on your lashes' condition! I was #shook looking at the prices as I was saving over $200. No wonder that customer was being difficult lol. I chose to be patient and the employees' were quite apologetic about the 30 minute wait -- I didn't think it was too bad.

Once the tech was about to be ready to see me, one of the employees went through a small poster that looked similar to the picture on the right. She asked what styles I wanted in regard to the angle, length, and curl pattern. I simply told her I wanted a bit of a #natural look with just a bit more length compared to my actual lashes. She told me that the natural style with varying lengths of lashes between 13 and 15 would be best for me.
The tech came out to get me in the waiting room and I started to get a bit nervous since I was like, oh shit it's happening. She took me into one of the rooms that had two one person beds and another tech waiting for her customer. The room was spacious enough for another person to lay vertically in between both beds, so it wasn't too small for my fellow #Claustrophics. The room smelled nice and it was quite bright.
I laid down and closed my eyes as my tech prepped me for my extensions. She applied a material on my under-eye and soon enough, she began to work, work, work. I laid there not really feeling much tbh other than knowing she was over my head gluing lashes on. The time passed by super quick and I was surprised since I was tryna take a little nap. I looked in the mirror and felt so different, but I was very pleased. It was exactly what I wanted all in under 35 minutes!
So, how was it afterwards?

This was my first time getting this service and Ididn't know how to properly take care of them. I actually said thank you and walked out without my complimentary spoolie since I was in a rush lol. You're also not supposed to wet your lashes for 24 hours, but I mistakenly did the next morning as I sleepily took a shower at 6AM. Yeah I know, big no no.
So, I think I paid for my mistakes. I conveniently used a spoolie I had at home that I was using to apply oil to my lashes anyway. The day after, a singular lash fell off and I had #99ProblemsButThatLashAintOne at that point. For the next couple of days, I had one or two lashes fall off and I was not even surprised. I also didn't mind because I had so many lashes it wasn't even noticeable and I was looking hella cute for the entirety of my #JordanYearWeekend.
Overall, the lashes lasted two weeks and that's partly because I forcibly removed the last few. This is a place I actually recommended to a few people and if you said I referred you, we will all receive $10 off our next visit! Please though, buy the GroupOn unless you're tryna drop major cash since this place is kinda high-end.
